This course is an introduction to boating safety and sailing specific safety. It then works through CYA mandated skills so that one can work towards the internationally recognized White Sail III certification. Topics to be covered include: knots, points of sail, capsizing, basic helming skills, terminology and much more. With lots of on-the-water practice this course is an exceptional introduction to the sport of sailing.
CANSail 1&2 runs on Saturdays in the Spring (May 10-June 21), Summer (July 5-August 16), and Fall (September 6-Oct 25). There will be one theory lesson in the evening on the Monday after the first practical lesson. Exact dates can be found on our website at http://rpsa.ca/programs/adults
Open to persons who have already obtained their CANSail 1&2 (or White Sail III), it is the first advanced sailing course.
