2018 Sask Cup Provincial 40K Time Trial and Criterium Championships

Registration Fees:  $25/event or $40 for both events

 

Please use your SCA race number (or one will be assigned).  Put 1 number on the

right side pocket and 1 number on the right side of chest/back as per diagram. 

Numbers may not be folded, cut or overlapped.

A race timing chip must also be affixed to your helmet.

Sask Cup 40K Time Trial

Location

The Time Trial start will be located 1 km north of Aberdeen at the intersection of the Norland Logistics Fertilizer Storage Facility entrance.  Parking will be located on the entrance road to the fertilizer storage facility.

The race route will be 20 km north on Hwy 41, turn around and return 20 km to the Finish line.

 

Registration

2:00 to 2:45 PM near the Start line on the entrance road to the Norland Logistics Fertilizer Storage Facility.  First rider off at 3:00 PM.

The Start list will be posted on the SCA van as soon as possible after registration closes at 2:45.

Please note the following:

  • The course is relatively flat with a few small rolling hills.  The shoulder is wide, with good pavement and rumble strips

  • A marshal will be posted at the turnaround point.  Please approach the turnaround with caution as this is a highway and the marshal may not be able to stop all traffic

  • Medals will be awarded as soon as possible after the last rider has finished

    Junior Gear (7.93 meters) Rollouts for U19 riders will take place near the Start line between 2:30 and 2:45 PM.

  • U19 categories will not be subject to bike and equipment restrictions. (Bikes must still conform to UCI rules and Junior gearing rules)
  • U17 riders are required to use their standard road race bike (no TT-specific bikes allowed) for all Time Trials. Time trial helmets are not allowed. May use clip-on aero bars for TT races.  Wheels must be low-profile, non-carbon (may not exceed 40mm)
  • U15 riders and under are required to use their standard road race bike (no TT-specific bikes allowed) for all Time Trials.  Time trial helmets and aero bars are not allowed.  Wheels must be low-profile, non-carbon (may not exceed 40mm)

Location

This is a four-corner Criterium around City Hall with the Start / Finish line located on 4th Avenue N midway between 23rd and 24th Streets.  Please note:  3rd Avenue North and 23rd Street E are only 2 lanes with a pylon boundary and riders should take extra care on these 2 sections and all 4 corners.  4th Avenue N and 24th Street E are full road closures.

Registration:  9:00 to 9:45 AM

Race Start Times

10:00 AM            20 minutes plus 3 laps, Group 1:  U17 Men & Women

10:30 AM            25 minutes plus 3 laps, Group 2:  Master C, D, & E Men & Women

11:00 AM            35 minutes plus 3 laps, Group 3:  Senior Women, Junior, Master A & B Men & Women

11:45 AM            45 minutes plus 3 laps, Group 4:  Senior Men

Please note the following:

  • UCI rules and regulations will be in place.  The onus is on the racer to know and follow the rules.  Wearing rigid safety headgear is mandatory during competition and training sessions
  • Lapped riders will be pulled at the Commissaires’ discretion.  Pulled riders will be given a pro-rated time.  Riders who DNF on their own will not be given a prorated time.  All racers will finish on the same lap as the leader, regardless of the number of laps completed
  • There will be a wheel pit near the Start / Finish line for riders who have crashed or flatted.  Wheels in the pit will be neutral wheels.  Please label wheels with your name, race number and the gear.  Riders may cut the course to access this wheel pit but may not ride backwards on the course. Riders will be given a free lap for a flat or crash related mechanical up to the last three laps.  Each person is only allowed one free lap/race.  Any rider who crashes in the last three laps will be given the same time as the last rider in the group they were riding in prior to the incident
