Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games

The Melbourne 2006 was a large event made possible due to the contributions of over 15,000 volunteers. Registration Logic provided a custom solution to manage the registration process for a volunteer warm up event.

Each volunteer was sent a customised HTML formatted email inviting them to participant in the volunteer warm up event. This email included a link to an online registration application where volunteers registered for the warm up event or informed organisers that they were not able to attend.

Each volunteer was assigned a unique identifier that allowed event organisers to track which volunteers had registered for the warm up event. Each volunteer's email was specifically addressed using the name stored for each volunteer within the database.

An administration facility was available to event organisers for reporting statistics on emails sent and responses received from volunteers. All information from the registration process was extracted into MS Excel spreadsheets once the bulk email campaign was completed.

Our systems successfully sent over 25,000 emails to Melbourne 2006 volunteers, including original invitations and follow up responses.
